i guess people might be/are bored with the michael schumacher stuff that i blog about, so i decided to blog about something that is not michael schumacher related. my first week of school!

well, tp is kinda far from where i stay, it takes me about 2hrs of travelling time to get there. luckily, my lessons are not that early for this sem, apart from fridays when lessons start at 8am. and i'm not the only one who has such long travelling times, there are also a few others who lives in jurong area.

for the oct intake, there's only one Integrated Facility Design & Management (FDM) class (which is my class, duh), consisting of 24 people. most of them come from ITEs, a few of them completed army, one from MI, one from sec sch and one, who's like me, completed her As. so, basically, only 2 guys are younger than me (i think one of them is transfering course). anyway, half of the class is malay, and the other half is chinese + one burmese. so, it's kinda balanced. the class is quite 'on' despite us knowing each other for only a few days.

lessons wise, i think the first week has gone pretty well. was thinking of exempting Engineering Maths (EMATH), but changed my mind coz i hope it will help me to pull up my GPA score (my goal is to get at least 3.5).
this sem, i'm taking - Facilities Operations and Mangement (FACOM), Real Estate Biz (REBUS), EMATH1, Writing and Oral Presentation (WRTORAL), Introduction to Effective Communication (EFFCOM), AutoCad and Applied Principles For Effective Living (APEL). met almost all my lecturers and tutors except for one, my rebus tutor, coz there's no tutorial for rebus this week. well, think all of them are pretty ok.

eh. dunno wat else to say...ermm except,
i've got a cold.

time to rest! tml is tutorials, revise work + guitar day.

it's do or 'die'. muggers rule.

THE END OF AN ERA
(my last entry about Michael Schumacher as a F1 driver)

Yesterday was Michael's last race as a F1 driver. even though he finished fourth, i still think it's nonetheless a good performance by him. ever since japan grand prix two weeks ago, he seemed to have lucked out. engine failure then, to fuel pressure problem in interlagos (brazil) qualifying, to having a puncture in his left rear tyre after a maneouvre to overtake fisichella during the race yesterday. despite of all that, he showed his fighting spirit, his keep-on-going attitude during his final race.

starting from the grid position of 10th, within two laps he was up at position 6. as mentioned before, a maneouvre to overtake caused his tyre to puncture, resulting in him dropping all the way to position 20th (the last car). he was 70+sec behind his teammate, massa, who could lap him at that point of time. as the race proceeded on, schumi overtook many other drivers (my personal fave of overtaking maneouvre is the one between him and kimi). at the end of the race he is 24sec behind massa.

i would say, it's not a great race by michael, not a very pleasant way of ending his racing career, but the race showed his determination, his superb driving skills and his attitude.

weirdly, his last race yesterday, didn't have the same emotional feeling i got when he announced his retirement during monza. maybe, if he had won the race and ferrari clinched their constructors championship, it will be another story. but i'm sure, the impact of his race is not as great as his announcement.

after michael's announcement, reports labelled his retirement as 'the end of an era'. seriously, i didn't agree with it totally till i realise it is apt an hour back. no more days of listening to commentry saying, it's a battle between schumi and blah-blah-blah. no more. it is going to be battle between kimi and/or alonso with someone else. schumi, a F1 driver of 16 years hangs his helmet.

feeling very tired, slept for 3hrs20min last night. shall continue with it next time.
not entirely the last, but i'll continue it here the nxt time..

shiba is my miracle laptop! haha! thanks to my itchy hands, i switched on my shiba which was supposedly dead. who knows, it then suddenly started up! all's working fine! OMG. miracle lappy. zhen shi tai shen qi le! lol. so no more sharing of comp with my bro and i guess no new laptop for the meantime...but i'm fine with it, i think. hehez. now trying to update my lappy with anti-virus stuffs and scanning for viruses.

oh! last night i watched the lastest episode of The Amazing Race 10. seriously, i feel like kicking the ass of ch5. it's such an entertaining show can! i'm still quite amazed by this season. new surprises from time to time. from eliminating the team during in the middle of a leg in the 1st episode, to having to listen to the clue, to this latest episode where it is the non-elimination leg. and the rule has changed. the last team can keep their possesions and money but they have to reach the pit stop first in the next leg or the team will incur a 30min penalty! so cool lah. kudos to TAR team for thinking such surprises.

some racers worth mentioning...
1) peter. he's such a jerk. his gf is disabled, running around with an artificial leg, and he tells her, 'hurry up sarah.' then when sarah tells him she can't go any faster, he says, 'i didn't ask you to go faster.' hmm...i wonder wat does 'hurry up' means then. another incident, at one of the road blocks, most of the guys from the other teams did it but peter decides to let sarah do it. instead of being encouraging, he hurries sarah and is not at all encouraging. wat a jerk!

2)the cho brothers. they are kinda funny. haha. they do stupid pranks. the pilot episode, they filled up toy water guns and shot at the other teams in the US airport. then, the security came and warned them not to do it again and confisicated their guns. haha. playing toy guns at US airport, what were they thinking? and the latest episode, they decided to freak peter out. so, they took out a fake phone and started to pretend they are calling to order air tickets. fyi, peter freaked out. lol.

ok. gotta go to clean up the house to prepare my sis's god-sis's arrival. tataz~

now, using the comp in the living room surfing net (F1 stuff/blogs/playing games),
i realise,
MY MUM SNORES!
she's taking her "nap" on the floor.
gee. she must be really tired.
dun think i heard my sis snore when i used to share the bed with her...
and i wonder do i snore...
hmm.

p.s michael conceded the title to alonso yest. i still can't believe wat happened to his engine. i'm feeling bitter.

i bought F1 Racing from Kinokuniya!!! WHAHAHA. my precious~

anyway, i'm going to stop my f1 talks for this entry....
i'm going to TV talk! lol.
just watched 'stuck on you' on ch5. nice movie! wanted to watch it last time in cinemas, but didn't watch in the end. i find it a bit short, especially the part where the brothers miss each other after they wanted to do their stuff, still can be elaborated a bit more. nonetheless, niceeee~

speaking of nice..."better halves" is damn nice! better halves, better known as jin pai bin ren. uber nice! the plot is not draggy and the dialogues are witty. why can't sg serials be something like that? no need to have so much back stabbing/hatred in the serials and have a bit of funny, not so draggy story plot! i like yi xian qian from jin pai bin ren! futou, baihe, gao fei, linghui xi, ping an, xiangxiang!

v tired...going to sleep.

19-20 oct...orientation. need to reach TP at 8AM! 8!!!! ACK!

there's no such thing as the curse of the Shanghai circuit! the curse was broken by Michael Schumacher who did fantastically wonderful in today's race! haha. this entry is kinda late coz the race ended 10 hours ago, but who cares! haha. and i know i might be boring some people who reads my blog, but who cares! haha! schumi's the greatest! WHAHAHHA.

anyway, this race was quite a miracle drive by schumi. things were looking ok on friday practices and sat morning practice...then it went terrible on qualifying. but the cards were turned and lady luck shines on schumi! hehez.

of coz, this race shows many people why schumi should be/is no doubt one of the best f1 drivers. during qualifying, when almost all the bridgestone runners were out, he was the sole bridgestone runner still in the top 10 shootout. he tried his best with the tyres that weren't suitable for the weather conditions and he managed a sixth, which wasn't that bad.
the team began to do the 'damage limitation exercise' for race day. but the damage limitation exercise turned into something much more wonderful - a victory!
alonso pushed too hard during the start of the race which caused the left front tyre to be badly worn out, hence he has to change his front two tyres, so he can't keep up the pace which the others were doing, who didn't change their tyres. on his 2nd pitstop, he had a problem with the rear wheel nut and it caused him a whole lot of time crucial for the race.
all the drivers switched into dry tyres, which at that time was the sensible thing to do, but the tyres needed some warming up to do. this enabled michael to overtake fisichella who had a little problem with the track with his dry tyres, coming out from his pit stop at turn one, . i would say that was a risky yet deciding manoevre which helped michael to claim his victory in Shanghai...breaking the curse and "equalising" the championship position with alonso.
(they are not really 'equalised' in a way, as, if both of them have the same championship points in the end, michael will still get the world champion title as he has won a race more than alonso)

with michael's genius, his driving skills, a little lady luck and mother nature's help (it started to drizzle 3 laps before the race ended..phew~), who says michael isn't one of the best?!

p.s. i'm thinking of goin to kinokuniya sometime maybe this week or nxt week to find & buy f1 magazines on schumi...anyone want to accompany me?! hehez.
