starting from the grid position of 10th, within two laps he was up at position 6. as mentioned before, a maneouvre to overtake caused his tyre to puncture, resulting in him dropping all the way to position 20th (the last car). he was 70+sec behind his teammate, massa, who could lap him at that point of time. as the race proceeded on, schumi overtook many other drivers (my personal fave of overtaking maneouvre is the one between him and kimi). at the end of the race he is 24sec behind massa.
i would say, it's not a great race by michael, not a very pleasant way of ending his racing career, but the race showed his determination, his superb driving skills and his attitude.
weirdly, his last race yesterday, didn't have the same emotional feeling i got when he announced his retirement during monza. maybe, if he had won the race and ferrari clinched their constructors championship, it will be another story. but i'm sure, the impact of his race is not as great as his announcement.
after michael's announcement, reports labelled his retirement as 'the end of an era'. seriously, i didn't agree with it totally till i realise it is apt an hour back. no more days of listening to commentry saying, it's a battle between schumi and blah-blah-blah. no more. it is going to be battle between kimi and/or alonso with someone else. schumi, a F1 driver of 16 years hangs his helmet.
feeling very tired, slept for 3hrs20min last night. shall continue with it next time.
not entirely the last, but i'll continue it here the nxt time..
